Inside the Feminine Balance: Flax, Sesame and Chia

August 25, 2026

What the Feminine Balance is built for

Across a lifetime, women's nutritional priorities shift: iron and folate in some years, calcium and fibre in others, and general comfort at many stages. Feminine Balance is a shake that stays with everyday, food-first ideas instead of promises.

It uses three seeds with strong traditional ties to women's kitchens in many cultures.

What each seed brings

Flax: Flax is one of the best-known plant sources of ALA and lignans, and it adds gentle, nutty fibre. In powder form its nutrients are easier to reach than in whole seeds, which is one reason powders are so handy.

Sesame: Sesame seeds contribute calcium, copper, magnesium and lignans such as sesamin. Ground sesame has the rich, toasty flavour familiar from tahini, which pairs well with dates, banana and cocoa.

Chia: Chia adds body and fibre: left to sit in a liquid, the seeds swell and make the drink feel creamier and more filling. They are a plant source of ALA omega-3 and also carry calcium, magnesium and phosphorus.

Flax and sesame provide lignans, plant compounds that are studied for their effects in the body, and chia adds fibre, omega-3 and calcium. Sesame also supplies calcium and zinc. It is a pleasant, nutrient-dense mix.

Who it suits

It suits adult women who like to eat with their cycle and life stage in mind, anyone looking for more fibre and calcium, and those who like creamy, nutty shakes. It is not a treatment for any hormonal condition.

When to drink it

Morning is a favourite time. Some people also like it in the days around their period as a comfort snack, and others make it a consistent part of the week. Listen to how your body feels.

Because needs vary so much between individuals, keep a short note of how you feel on the days you drink it and share it with your doctor if you have questions. That simple record is more useful than any general rule and helps you decide whether the shake belongs in your routine.

How to customise it

Berries and banana are classic; dates sweeten without refined sugar. Warm flavours such as vanilla or cinnamon go well with sesame. Pick milk or a calcium-fortified plant drink if you want an extra calcium contribution from the liquid. A Medium 16 oz is a good everyday size, with the Small 12 oz useful on days when appetite is lower. Because the flavour is gentle, it is an easy blend to enjoy regularly without getting tired of it. Every Naturalition shake comes in Small 12 oz, Medium 16 oz or Large 20 oz, with a free choice of liquid, sweetener and one fruit.

Who should check with a doctor first

If you are pregnant, breastfeeding, taking hormone therapy or contraception, or have a hormone-sensitive condition such as endometriosis or a hormone-related cancer history, talk to your doctor before regularly consuming flax and sesame. Seed allergies are another reason to avoid this blend.
